The Customer Portal: Empowering Your Subscribers
The Customer Portal is a self-service hub that allows your subscribers to manage their own plans without needing to contact your support team. This reduces administrative overhead and improves the customer experience.
Customers can access the portal at your-store.com/apps/sip-subscriptions/subscriptions whenever they are logged into their store account.
Subscriptions List
Upon entering the portal, customers see a clean overview of their current and past subscriptions. The list includes:
- Product Details: Image, title, variant, and price.
- Status: Real-time tracking (Active, Paused, Cancelled, Expired, or Failed).
- Key Dates: Initial order date and the next scheduled fulfillment date.
- Frequency: How often they are billed (e.g., Monthly, Weekly).
Subscription Detailed View
By clicking "View Details," customers can dive deeper into a specific subscription to see:
1. Subscription Info
A high-level summary showing the status badge, next billing date, plan name, start date, and total order count. If the plan has a minimum or maximum billing cycle, those details are also displayed here.
2. Products & Pricing
A line-item breakdown of the products, quantities, and variants. This section also clearly displays the subtotal, delivery costs, and the final total.
3. Recent Orders
A complete billing history. Customers can track the status (Success, Pending, or Failed) of previous charges and click through to the specific Shopify order numbers.
4. Customer Info (Sidebar)
Contains the customer’s name, email, and delivery address. This section also features the "Update Payment Method" button, which triggers a secure Shopify email for the customer to refresh their credit card details.
Available Customer Actions
Depending on your store settings and the subscription’s status, customers can perform the following actions:
- Get Now: Place an immediate order. A summary modal will appear, allowing the customer to choose whether to keep their original billing schedule or reset their cycle to today's date.
- Resume: Reactivate a "Paused" or "Failed" subscription.
- Cancel: End the subscription.
Remember: This button is automatically disabled if the minimum billing cycles have not yet been met. A tooltip will inform the customer why they cannot cancel yet.
- Skip Next Delivery: Skip the very next billing cycle (if enabled in your settings).
- Pause for X week(s): Temporarily pause for 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks, based on your configured durations.
- Pause Until I Resume: An indefinite pause option (if enabled in your settings).
Magic Links
To make management even easier, every subscription is assigned a unique Magic Link (URL token).
- No Login Required: These links allow customers to jump directly from their email notification to their specific subscription management page.
- Automated: Sip Subscriptions automatically includes these links in all lifecycle emails.
